KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) on Wednesday launched 46 development projects in Chakhansor district of southwestern Nimroz province, an official said Wednesday.
Eng. Mohammad Samay, Nimroz governor, during the projects launch ceremony, said that besides developing Chakhansor district in infrastructure, the projects would also create jobs for many youth.
He asked officials and village development councils to cooperate in protection and maintenance of the projects.
Eng. Farid Azim, head of rural rehabilitation and development of Nimroz, told Pajhwok Afghan News that implementation of the projects would help resolve many problems of the local people.
He said the provincial administration was committed to executing the projects on their schedule.
The projects would benefit 3,531 families or 17,119 people in the district once completed, Azim said.
Abdur Rahim, head of Chakhansor development council, said the projects would meet major requirements of the district residents. He hoped the projects would help reduce people’s problems.
The projects would be implemented in areas of agriculture, irrigation, transport and energy.
