KABUL say they have not discussed the creation of an interim government and elections at peace talks with US diplomats in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Over the past two days, some foreign media outlets said an interim government, elections and a ceasefire were discussed in meetings between Taliban and the United States.
In a statement on Wednesday, Taliban said the negotiations in Abu Dhabi were taking place with the US on ways of ending American intervention.
Nothing was discussed about an interim government, a ceasefire, elections or any internal issue; the main topic was the American occupation of Afghanistan, the statement added.
More details of the ongoing meeting in Abu Dhabi would be shared with media later one, the insurgent movement added.
Meanwhile, the Afghan government’s negotiating team prepared for face-to-face meeting with the Taliban delegation in Abu Dhabi.
