KABUL’s chief for Nahr-i-Shahi district of northern Balkh province, the spy service said.
In a statement, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said its personnel detained the Taliban’s shadow district chief named Ghaibullah.
The source said Ghaibullah had been appointed as the district chief by Qudratullah, the Taliban’s shadow governor for Balkh province, five months ago.
In a separate operation, Ghazni Mohammad, a Taliban infiltrator in the Afghan Local Police forces, was detained before he could reach his target.
The detainee wanted to kill an ALP commander in Chamtal district, the spy service said, adding the detainees had confessed their crimes.
The Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
