KABUL (HPC) on Wednesday advised media outlets not to insult and instead condemn the insurgents amid an ongoing peace process.
This was stated by Mohammad Omar Daudzai, HPC secretary and the president’s special advisor for regional affairs on peace, during a meeting with institutes supporting journalist rights.
Daudzai said the insurgents carried out bomb attacks and suicide bombings—which were condemnable and should be criticized, but should not be insulted.
“The Afghanistan conflict which is four decades old has roots outside the country and the Afghans themselves should solve it”, Daudzai added.
Musdiq Muqsit, Journalists Coordination Center deputy head, said the Afghans had been in a horrific situation over the past 40 years.
“We are a nation who suffered a lot, we are victims of the four decades of miseries, peace is our goal and we can get closer to peace by spreading messages about it.”
Hafizullah Barakzai, head of Afghanistan Journalists Council, said the entire world.
“We no longer want our people die in a proxy war, we should work together with the HPC until we reach a tangible result,” he said.
Barakzai said neighboring countries showed ‘a green light’ for peace and the Afghans should not miss this opportunity.
