KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani’s special envoy Mohammad Omar Daudzai is set to visit Tehran to drum up regional support for the Afghan peace process.
Aimed at forging regional consensus on peace in Afghanistan, Daudzai’s visit would take place in coming days, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported
High Peace Council (HPC) Ihsan Taheri was quoted as saying that the trip was part of Daudzai’s plan to consul different regional countries on the reconciliation drive.
Having met Taliban representatives on, Iran supports intra-Afghan peace talks under the supervision of the Afghan government.
