KABUL (Pajhwok): Residents and relatives of the kidnapped and murdered girl, Mahsa, have demanded execution of her killers, with her parents threatening to commit self-immolation if the killers are not hanged.
Mahsa, a six-year-old girl, had been kidnapped from the limits of 11th police district of Kabul city on March 10 and was killed by her kidnappers after her family failed to provide the ransom money.
Around 200 residents and relatives of the slain Mahsa on Monday held a gathering in Khairkhana locality and demanded capital punishment to the murderers of Mahsa.
The demonstrators said they would widen their protest if the case was not seriously followed.
Murtaza Ahmadi, father of the slain girl, urged the government to hang the murderers of his little girl to make them a lesson for others.
He said: “I will commit self-immolation along with my wife and our three children if the killers of our daughter are not executed.”
Nasir Ahmad Kohbandi, a senior advisor to the CEO and an organizer of the rally said the murders of Mahsa should be hanged in public in order no one dare to commit such act in future. He warned if their demand was not addressed, they would widen their protest.
Gen. Sadruddin Fakhri, a resident of the area, said they strongly condemned the incident and wanted the murderers of the little girl to be hanged.
Haji Nisaruddin Baryali, former Kabul provincial council chief, also strongly condemned the incident and asked the government for what it was waiting when the murders of Mahsa had confessed to their crime.
