Police officer gunned down in Jalalabad

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): An officer of the Public Order Police (POP) force was killed by unidentified gunmen in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday, an official said.

Police Spokesman Mubarez Atal told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened early in the morning at around 5:30 am in the limits of fourth police district.

He said assailents who shot dead Mohammad Younis managed to flee the area, adding police launched manhunt.

Separately, one civilian was killed in a blast on civlians vehicle in Jalalabad on Saturday night.
