Nab links economic prosperity with peace in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Foreign Minister Mirwais Nab has stress over joint efforts in fight against terrorism for greater economic prosperity and development in the region.

Addressing the 24^th Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) meeting Nab said: “economic prosperity is directly connected with peace, & Afghanistan. This is a shared responsibility that must be shouldered collectively.”

He informed the participants on Afghanistan’s regional econ achievements & priorities over the past few years including major connectivity & energy projects including TAPI, CASA1000, Lapis Lazuli & more. AFG’s economic policy offers untapped opportunities for the region.

“Recent experiences show that only direct talks with the Afghan Government can lead to sustainable and dignified peace, and must start under a verifiable ceasefire as an indication of Taliban’s commitment for peace,” he added.
