Nearly dozen Taliban suffer casualties in Laghman clash

 

MEHTHARLAM (Pajhwok): Security forces killed at least six Taliban insurgents, including a commander, and injured five others during a clash in eastern Laghman province, an official said Monday.

Mohammad Haroon Yousafzai, spokesman for 201st Selab Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the clash erupted between security forces and Taliban gunmen in Menjan area of Alishang district late on Sunday.

He said six militants were killed, including their commander Qari Usman, and five others wounded, with security forces escaping unhurt.

Elsewhere, one Daesh rebel was killed and their hideout destroyed in Gul Dara area of Sawakai district in a drone strike in eastern Kunar province, Yousafzai added.
