The Norwegian special envoy, congratulating Atmar on his appointment as acting foreign minister, hoped the world would survive the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
A statement from the ministry said Ilsaas also briefed the foreign minister on Norway’s readiness to support the peace process and economic development of Afghanistan.
It added Atmar talked about his priorities, including efforts to promote the peace process. The reform process in Afghanistan’s diplomatic and foreign policy apparatus would continue, he promised.
The acting minister appreciated Norway’s comprehensive support to Afghanistan in political and economic fields.
