Cabinet tasks Atmar to share Kabul concerns with Tehran

KABUL’s concerns with Iran over the return of refugees and coronavirus, a statement said on Tuesday.

The Monday’s evening meeting through video conference was chaired by President Ghani, in which all governors participated.

At the beginning, President Ghani welcomed Atmar, Abdul Hadi Arghanidwal and Mohammad Shakir Kargar to the Cabinet.

The cabinet meeting expressed concern over lack of attention by Kabul residents to restrictions imposed by authorities to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Second Vice President Sarwar Danish presented the strategy of the Awareness Committee on coronavirus on how to check the spread of coronavirus from Afghans returning from Iran.

The Cabinet also tasked Acting Foreign Minister Atmar to share Afghanistan’s concern regarding the repatriation of Afghans and other issues related to coronavirus.

The prisons affairs head presented his strategy on the country’s prisons and shrinking the number of prisoners to halt the spread of coronavirus in prisons.

The cabinet approved 6,470 million afghanis to be drawn from the Interior Ministry’s housing project to the prisoners’ relief project against coronavirus.
