KABUL over the past two weeks.
Javed Faisal, spokesman for NSC, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “As usual, the Taliban continue their violence against Afghans. As a result, 79 civilians were martyred and 150 others wounded in 29 provinces of the country.”
He added most of the civilians suffered casualties in Taliban-planted landmine explosions. Most of the casualties happened in Kandahar, Kabul and Sar-i-Pul provinces.
Pointing to headway on the reconciliation front, Faisal said: “The civilian casualties come at a time when progress is being made in the peace process more than ever before. The killing of Muslims and Afghans should be stopped...”
Faisal argued harm to civilians was against religious teachings, military ethics and standards. He hit out at the Taliban for continue to commit such acts.
