KABUL Abdul Ghani Baradar in Qatar on the Afghan peace process and intra-Afghan talks.
Suhail Shaheen, spokesman for Taliban’s political office, tweeted Iran’s special envoy Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian and the delegation he led met Mullah Baradar in Doha late on Monday.
He added that both sides discussed the situation of Afghan refugees in Iran, border issues, the intra-Afghan negotiations and the current situation in the war-torn country.
According to Shaheen, Mullah Baradar asked Taherian to treat the Afghan refugees in Iran in the Islamic spirit of brotherhood.
On intra-Afghan talks, Shaheen quoted Baradar as saying that he remained committed to all aspects of the Feb. 29 peace pact with the US. The Taliban were ready for intra-Afghan talks once the release of their prisoners was completed.
