Female PC member wounded in Logar attack

KABUL (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot injured a female provincial council member in central Logar province on Monday morning, an official said.

Deedar Lawang, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in the Milli Bairagh Square in Pul-i-Alam at around 8am.

He said PC member Nafisa Hejran and her drive were injured in the attack. They were evacuated to hospital for medical treatment.

They are in stable condition, according to Lawang, who said the attackers managed to flee the area.

PC Chairman Hasibullah Stanikzai confirmed the incident and said that Nafisa was taken to Kabul after being administered first medical aid.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
