KABUL has launched 177 development projects worth 120 million afghanis in central Kapisa province, an official said on Saturday.
The projects include construction of 100 storages for raisin, 40 for onion, 20 for potato and 50 solar drying facilities for fruits and vegetables and 12 cold storages for fruits. The projects are being executed in accordance with the climate of the area and work on them has been started.
Agriculture Director Humayoun Habib said the projects worth 120 million afs were being implemented in Tagab, Nijrab, Koh Band and Mahmood Raqi.
He added in the past farmers sold their crop harvests at a low rate to save them from going rotten but with implementation of the new projects, this problem would be addressed.
