KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 875 Afghan refugees have been released from prisons in Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan this week, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) said on Thursday.

In a statement, the ministry said 810 returnees entered Afghanistan through the Torkham crossing, while another 65 returned through Spin Boldak.

According to the ministry, the returnees included families and individuals who had been detained for lacking valid legal documents and had spent varying periods in Pakistani prisons.

The ministry said the returnees received necessary assistance upon arrival before being transported to their respective home areas.
