HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Three civilians have been shot dead and another six wounded by unidentified gunmen in western Herat province, an official said on Saturday.
Police spokesman Abdul Ahad Walizada told Pajhwok Afghan News two motorcyclists opened fire on civilians in limits of the 13th police district of Herat City, the provincial capital, late on Friday night.
He said a number of people suffered causalities in the firing but he did not have exact figures. No one has been arrested in connection with the incident so far, but security personnel investigating the attack.
Herat Zonal Hospital spokesman Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai confirmed receiving three bodies and six wounded people from the site. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
