Kabul-Takhar highway shut due to fighting

TALOQAN (Pajhwok): The Taloqan-Kabul. At least 10 civilians were injured in the firefight.

Police spokesman Khalil Aseer told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked security check-posts in Qabr-i-Qazi area, forcing the highway’s closure for traffic.

Aseer said that the security forces and the Taliban had suffered no casualties, but 10 civilians were wounded in the clash.

Hikmat, a resident of the area, said the Taliban stormed public uprising forces’ check-posts. The highway has been closed for the past three days, he added.
