KABUL’s regime after 25 years.
Saleh expressed the view while addressing a gathering in Loya Jirga hall marking the second death anniversary of Kandahar Police Chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Razeq.
He said Gen. Razeq was among those heroes who emerged from the society and his memories would be written on golden pages in the history.
He said: “Gen. Razeq played role in the security of a province that bordered with the Taliban Quetta Shura.”
He added the people of Afghanistan remember their heroes on their anniversaries while nobody remembered the Taliban and dropped tears for them 25 years after the fall of their regime.
Saleh said the Taliban prepared for nine months to capture Helmand but they achieved nothing except bloodshed and displacement of people.
He said had the Taliban ruled over public hearts then why people flee homes during recent conflict and if the Taliban claim to rule Afghanistan then why they hide their faces.
Referring to the ongoing peace talks, he said Afghan delegation told the Taliban that future talks should be in line with Quran and Sunnah but the Taliban stressed that talks should be based on US-Taliban peace agreement.
National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib said that he and his friends would follow Gen. Razeq’s way.
He said nobody granted them this country in charity, adding that they defended this country from people who considered Pakistan’s Hera Mandavi as holy place and dubbed Mosques, roads and hospitals as Kafir.
He said they were committed to peace with those who considered themselves Afghan, respect the people of this country, don’t displace thousands of Afghans in cold weather and hold authority.
Senate Chairman Fazal Hadi Muslimyar also addressed the event and offered his condolences to Gen. Razeq’s family.
He asked NHRC Chairman Abdullah Abdullah to work for honorable peace.
