HEART CITY (Pajhwok): At least seven railways security guards were injured in a bomb blast on the Herat-Islam Qala highway in western Herat province on Monday.
Jailani Farhad, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast hit a pick-up vehicle of National Public Protection Force (NPPF) this morning.
He said seven personnel were injured in the blast and they were evacuated to a nearby hospital. Farhad said another landmine was recovered and defused in the area.
Zia Wadan, spokesman for NPPF, said two explosions targeted their personnel, injuring seven guards and currently they were under medical care in hospital.
He said the injured were in stable condition.
