GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A disabled man in southern Ghazni province is helping ailing people by providing free blood he collects from donors.
Jan Mohammad, a resident of Qarabagh district of Ghazni province, is disabled in both of his legs by polio virus as he did not receive anti-polio vaccine on his early age.
Mohammad in an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan News said that he dedicated his time to help patients by collecting them free blood from donors in Qarabagh District Hospital.
He said, “I stand here (in the front of hospital) to help those looking for free blood for their patients.”
He said, “Patient attendants sometimes donate me 100 or 150 afghanis but it could not meet my family’s needs, but I want to do good to people.”
He said he had helped hundreds of people in the district in finding free blood as well as assisted people in finding missed children.
“I currently use a wheelchair which is a little bit slow, but if I had a four-wheeled motorcycle it would have helped me to do my service faster,” Mohammad said.
Azizullah Qadari, head of a charity organization in Ghazni, said that Mohammad had helped a lot of people in finding blood for patients.
“We know his economic condition, but he still continues his service, we have assisted him once and will help him again,” he said.
Wahidullah Jumazadah, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok that they will provide assistance to all needy people, including Jan Mohammad based on a program.
He said that Jan Mohammad would not be missed from the local administration’s assistance to poor people in future charity programs.
