KABUL (Pajhwok): After months of bickering over rules and procedures, Afghan government and Taliban negotiators met in Doha on Saturday.
Working groups from both sides exchanged views issues around the agenda of formal peace parleys, which began on September 12.
In separate statements, negotiating teams of the Afghan government and the Taliban said their working groups would meet again on Sunday (today).
Also on Saturday, President Ashraf Ghani renewed his call for the Taliban to declare a comprehensive nationwide ceasefire.
Addressing the maiden meeting of the High Council for National Reconciliation, he said the Afghans, their government and partners remained committed to substantive talks with the Taliban.
