MoPH reports 232new Covid-19 cases

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Tuesday reported 232new positive Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours in the country.

The ministry said 1647 people underwent tests during the past 24 hours and the virus was detected in 232 people, pushing the total cases in the country to50,202 on Thursday.

The ministry said 36 cases were detected in Kabul, 82 in Herat, 25 in Takhar, 15 in Farah, 12 in Kandahar, 10 in Ghor, 8 in MaidanWardak, , 7 in Baghlan, 5 each  in Panjsher, Kunar, Nangarhar, 4 in Ghazni,  3 each in Nimroz, Laghman, Zabul, Urozgan, 2 each in Parwan, Badghis, one each in Logar and Badakhshan provinces.

The period saw 38 individuals recovering from the pandemic, with the total recoveries reaching 38,686.

At least 15 people lost their lives to the virus during the period and the total deaths reached 2,032.

The ministry has announced that the second wave of the pandemic has begun in the country and people should follow the virus preventive guidelines.
