JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Justice Minister Fazal Ahmad Manavi on Thursday asked his ministry’s district offices to resolve future legal cases through reconciliation between disputing parties.

Addressing a workshop arranged with USAID support, Manavi said legal affairs experts and officials, who were able to resolve legal cases through mediation, would be admired.

Legal affairs employees from Kunar, Laghman, Nuristan and Khost provinces underwent training about legal cases at the workshop.

“What is important is that we should address legal issues through reconciliation. Today I want to announce that legal employees who settle most of legal disputes through reconciliation would be granted a prize and admiration certificate.”

He told the officials that he would strive to resolve their problems in order their efficiency was improved.

Nangarhar Justice Department Head Masto Khan Helal said such workshops for justice department employees would help ensure speedy justice in the country.

Workshop participants said they learnt a lot during the training as in the past they sometimes issued wrong verdicts due to lack of knowledge.
