HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen on Wednesday attacked an Afghan National Army (ANA) vehicle, killing three and wounding four soldiers in western Herat province.
Abdul Ahad Walizada, police spokesman, confirmed the incident and said the soldiers were on their way to work when they came under attack at 7am.
He added two gunmen killed three security personnel and wounded four others. “The attack came in the Pay Manarha area of Herat City.
Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai, spokesman for Public Health Department, said that three bodies and four wounded army personnel were initially evacuated to the Zonal Hospital before being moved to the 807 Zafar Military Corps Hospital.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the assault.
On the other hand, six policemen were wounded in a heavy explosion near the Pul-e-Malan check-post in Injil district on Tuesday night.
