KABUL (Pajhwok): Kabul governor says they reclaimed around 350 acres of government land which had been grabbed by power individuals.

Kabul governor, Mohammad Yaqoob Haidari told this in a government accountability meeting in Kabul on Wednesday.

He said based on the framework of Citizen Security Charter and the 6:30am meetings, around 350 acres of government lands in Bagrami, Shakardara, Istalif, Kalakan and Qarabagh districts were returned to the government and some land grabbers were referred to judicial authorities.“We will not allow anyone to grab government owned lands,” the governor said.

The governor about implementation of uplifting projects in Kabul said in the current year, 800 small and big uplift projects were underway and over 500 of these projects were ready for use.

He said construction of 16 out of 18 mosques in Kabul had been completed and construction work on two other mosques was yet to begin.

The governor also talked about employment opportunities, saying 3,000 individuals were employed under the Covid-19 emergency committee in Sarobi, Khak-i-Jabar and Kalakan districts of Kabul for six months but their contracts would now be extended to three years.

“According to the proposal of Kabul Administration; over 40,000 individuals were provided with employment opportunities by the Presidential Operational Unit,” he added.

Haidari said the Kabul administration was allocated a total of 10 billion afghanis as development budget for the 1,399 solar year and the administration had spent 8.4 billion or 85pc of the allocated budget.

He added key departments of Kabul including Kabul basin, agriculture and rural development spent 93pc of their allocated budgets.
