PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Hundreds of loaded trucks are stranded on the Durand Line due to a technical fault in the weighing machine on the Afghan side, says a media report.
Most of the trucks are said to be loaded with perishable edible items that may go rotten. The truckers urged the Afghan authorities to fix the machine as soon as possible.
Concerned about the situation, transporters linked the fault to power outages and poor internet connectivity that led to slow clearance of trade items, according to Dawn.
The transporters hit out at the Pakistani authorities for their failure to honour their promise to keep the Durand Line open round the clock for the smooth movement of trucks on both sides.
