The tree plantation campaign began from Nangarhar High School in Jalalabad city and would be extended to schools in Jalalabad city and districts of the province.

Nangarhar director of Education, Hasibullah Shinwari said they started the plantation process after signing an agreement with Nangarhar department of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.

He said earlier too saplings had been planted in schools but the plants would dry due to negligence but this year students would be given the responsibility of protecting one plant each.
