In 24 hours, MoPH registers 23 new Covid-19 cases

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Monday said it registered 23 new positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours nationwide.

The ministry in a statement said 1,508 people underwent tests since Saturday and the virus was detected in 23 people, pushing the overall tally to 55,995.

It said 6 cases were detected in Nangarhar, 5 in Kandahar, 3 in Kunar, 2 each in Kabul, Logar, Helmand, one each in Balkh and Maidan Wardak provinces.

Four individuals recovered from the infection, taking the recoveries to 49,481 and one person lost battle for life to the virus during the period, with the total death toll reaching 2,460.
