Mastermind of Kabul University attack arrested by NDS

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The mastermind behind the Kabul university attack has been arrested by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in the Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Thursday.

Governor Ziaul Haq Amarkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News that 02 unit of the spy service arrested Hazrat Ali, a Daesh member and mastermind of the attack, during a special operation.

Hazrat Ali is also known as Abu Saeed Azimi, Shaheen Nangarhari and Hamza Khurasani. Two other suspects were also detained along with Ali, the governor said.

Besides masterminding the Kabul University attack, Ali has links with Daesh leaders in Iraq, Syria and Belgium. He has allegedly struk fear in people’s hearts.

Meanwhile, the intelligence agency said in a statement that the special operation was carried out in the Shana Lakara area of Achin district.

The statement said that a key member of Daesh, named Saeed Azam, had been detained along with two other associates. The NDS also said the detainee was the mastermind of the Kabul University attack.

Two pistols were seized from the detainee. However, Daesh has not yet commented on the arrest.
