KABUL (Pajhwok): A blaze erupted at a fuel station on a busy highway in Kabul on Saturday evening, damaging several vehicles.
The Interior Ministry (MoI) confirmed the fire in the Adda-i-Mazar area in the jurisdiction of the 17th police district of the capital.
Firefighters were trying to extinguish the fire, the ministry spokesman said, adding the fuel station was located on the highway linking Kabul with northern provinces.
Several fuel trucks waiting to enter Kabul also caught fire, according to area residents, who said the fire raged until late night.
Power supply to many parts of the city was disrupted soon after the incident. One TV channel reported several explosions were heard in the area.
