MAIMANA/FEROZKOH/FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Nine security personnel and six militants have been killed in separate incidents of violence in Farah, Ghor and Faryab provinces, officials said on Monday.
A Taliban infiltrator killed four policemen during his turn of guarding a check-post in Ferozkoh City, the capital of Ghor province, according to a well-placed security source.
Ghor Governor Spokesperson ZalmaiKarimi confirmed the killing of four policemen by their colleague in northern part of Ferozkoh.
The Taliban have not spoken about this incident so far.
Elsewhere, five army personnel were killed and four others injured when their Humvee vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Faryab province, a security source said.
The army personnel in their vehicle were traveling towards a check-post to provide equipment and logistic support when the blast happened.
In Farah, six Taliban were killed when they attacked security forces check-post in the PushtKoh district, Police Spokesperson FarooqHazrati said.
