KABUL (Pajhwok): National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib on Tuesday says Afghanistan will get seven Black Hawk helicopters next week and the international community has pledged more aircrafts to Afghan security forces in the future.
Addressing reporters here Mohib said: “The Taliban advancement on the battlefield doesn’t mean that people accepted them. People are ready to defend their country and the Taliban made a huge mistake considering that people surrendered to them.”
He said it was expected that after the pull out of foreign forces from Afghanistan there will be no reason for Taliban to continue fighting but on the contrary the Taliban intensified fighting.
NSA Mohib said Afghan negotiating team was in Doha for talks but the Taliban stepped up fighting.
“We are working to control the situation. We will get back district centres, police and security forces facilities.”
He added security force retake 14 districts from the Taliban in the past one month, adding that 2,300 security personnel who surrendered to the Taliban have referred to the recruitment centres again waiting for rejoining security forces.
“Regional countries are worried about current situation of Afghanistan therefore Tajikistan has decided to deploy some troops in the border with Afghanistan,” he said.
He asked media and massed not to become tool of enemy propaganda.
