FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Local sources in western Farah province have acknowledged the Taliban took the control of Abu Nasar Farahi Port.

Haji Khair Mohammad Noorzai, deputy head of Farah Provincial Council, said the Taliban captured the port without any resistance.

Up to 300 security personnel were present in the port who fled to Iranian side with their weapons and military equipment.

Mohammad Amin, an employee of Abu Nasar Port said the Taliban captured the port and all relevant departments.

Maulvi Muhajir, the Taliban Economic Commission head in western Zone, in an audio message assured businessmen of safety and security of their goods and added businesses at Abu Nasar Port will continue as normal.

Iranian media reported the fall of Abdu Nasar Port to Taliban and claimed business activities stopped there.
