KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Two children have been killed and four others wounded as a mortar shell hit a civilian house in southeastern Khost province, an official said on Wednesday.
Police spokesman Najib Ahmad Najib told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took the place in Zambar area of Sabari Yaqubi district on Tuesday evening.
He said the mortar shell, fired by the Taliban , struck hit a house, killing one man and injuring four others.
But a security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said two children were killed and four others wounded in the incident.
Najib said it was the second time in the past few days that a Taliban-fired mortar shell hit a house and caused casualties to civilians.
However, the Taliban have not yet commented about the incident.
