‘Work on Pashdan Dam to resume soon’

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Senior officials visited the under-construction Pashdan Dam in western Herat province and assured resumption of work on the hydro power project.

Water and Energy Minister Mawlavi Abdul LatifMasnour, Governor Mawlana Noor Ahmad Islamjar, River Zone head and other officials visited the dam site and oversaw the construction work.

The delegation met the engineering team of the under construction dam and heard their problems and hurdles to the mega project.

Governor Islamjar termed the Pashdan Dam one of the mega economic and water management project of the country.

Work on Pashdan Dam has been completed 80 percent in the previous government and it is hoped that the Energy Ministry would soon resume work on the project.
