KABUL (Pajhwok): Serious efforts are ongoing to make the interim government more inclusive, says Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.
Speaking the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey on Saturday, he asserted the Afghans’ ability to set up their own government.
Afghanistan no longer wanted to be the scene of wars between superpowers, the foreign minister was quoted as saying by the state-run broadcaster.
Muttaqi warned against the imposition of what he called “foreign versions of government and outlandish ideology” on the Afghans.
The new government had been trying to shore up the Afghan economy, he said, claiming progress had been achieved in several areas.
A fragile administration in Kabul would not serve the interest of anyone, he believed, stressing an end to efforts at destabilising the Taliban government.
He maintained: “Many opportunities have been created in Afghanistan, which has the potential to serve as a bridge between Central and South Asian countries.”
The foreign minister once again urged the global fraternity, including participants of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, to help Afghanistan in get back its reserves from the US and other countries.
