KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations has expressed concern over alleged Pakistani airstrikes in Kunar and Khost provinces.
The cross-Durand Line strikes, besides causing heavy financial losses, also led to dozens of civilian casualties.
On Sunday, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) said it was deeply concerned by reports of civilian casualties in the Pakistani airstrikes in Khost and Kunar.
Following the raids, which sparked tensions between the neighbours, the UN mission emphasised that civilians should never be targeted.
Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has handed a demarche to Pakistan Ambassador Mansoor Ahmad Khan over the incident. Muttaqi stressed such acts must not recur.
