FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Deputy Minister of Public Health Habibullah Akhundzada yesterday travelled to western Farah province at the head of a delegation to visit the health sector.
Akhundzada told Pajhwok Afghan News there was a need for at least a 100-bed hospital in every district of Farah.
“The clinics that have been set up in the past are now less in numbers in proportion to the population of the districts and cannot meet the needs of the people,” he said.
He added that he would share the problems of the health sector in Farah with the leadership of the ministry and steps would be taken to resolve them.
On the other hand, Farah Public Health Director Dr. Sirajuddin Muzamil told Pajhwok Afghan News the delegation promised that the problems of the province would be addressed.
He said that currently there were 68 health centers operational in the province.
