GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Residents of the Janikhel district of southeastern Paktia province say some projects initiated by the previous government remain incomplete.
Abdul Hakim, a tribal elder, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Several projects were approved by the previous rulers, such as roads, hospitals and bridges.”
Some of the schemes remained incomplete, he regretted, saying the projects were vital for the district. He urged the current government to complete the projects as soon as possible.
Hakim said the people were facing difficulties in the absence of paved roads and hospitals. Patients are taken to other provinces for medical treatment.
Yar Mohammad Mangal, a resident of Janikhel, confirmed the projects launched by the previous government could not be completed due to war and lack of attention.
Maulvi Shaukat, the district’s administrative chief, endorsed public complaints and asked for the resumption of work on the projects.
