TALOQAN (Pajhwok): The World Food Programme (WFP) has distributed food items to 2,000 less fortunate families in the Kolfgan district of Northern Takhar province.
WFP Northern Zone in-charge Hayatullah Rasouli told Pajhwok News the aid package included a 50-kilogram sack of flour, 7 kilograms of pulses, five liters of cooking oil, and biscuits for children.
Sediqullah, one of the beneficiaries, said his elder son was killed in the past conflict and was currently facing economic hardship.
He stressed aid providing institutions should not forget vulnerable people in such difficult situations. WFP pledged to continue the provision of aid for six months.
