Kabul police arrest 7-member car-lifers’ gang

KABUL (Pajhwok): Police on Sunday claimed arresting a seven-member car-lifters’ gang in the 11 th security district of capital Kabul.

Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran on his twitter page wrote: “Police have arrested a seven-member group involved in car-lifting.”

He said four stolen vehicles were recovered from the detainees and handed over to their owners.  Dossiers of the accused have been completed and sent to the relevant organs.

Meanwhile, Qari Mohammad Qasim Ayubi, chief manager at the office of the Kabul Police Command, in a video message said police recovered three corolla cars, 2 saracha cars, one Mercedes and a rickshaw from thieves during the past 15 days in 4th, 11th, 12th and 15th districts of Kabul and handed over to their owners.

However, he did not say if anyone had been arrested in connection with the stealing of these vehicles.

Kabul police busted the car-lifers’ gang amid increasing incidents of vehicle theft in the city.
