PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The Himmat Cricket Club has won an under-18 tournament organized by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) in central Logar province, an official said on Tuesday.
ACB Director for Logar Bashir Ahmad Sahil told Pajhwok Afghan News 18 teams participated in the inter-club tournament, which lasted a month.
He hoped the event would help pick promising players for the provincial team, which would be announced in the future.
Mohammad Javid, one of the cricketers, said hundreds of people from different parts of Logar province watched matches.
He, however, demanded the provision of facilities to promote cricket in Logar. “Logar players want the ACB to build a quality ground and pick the best players from inter-club matches for the provincial team.”
This year, inter-club competitions, which kicked off in Herat province, and are still underway in different parts of the country.
