KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) on Thursday said the Kankoor or university entrance exam began in 33 provinces, except Kabul, and would take three days.
Ahmad Taqi, MoHE spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that today the entrance exams commenced in 33 provinces.
He said the test would also be held in Kabul, but provided no details in this regard.
Prof. Abdul Qadir, head of the National Examination Authority of Afghanistan (NEXA), had previously told Pajhwok Afghan News in an exclusive interview that the number of applicants of the entrance test had reached 145,000 and 80,000 of them would be enrolled in higher and semi-higher educational institutes.
He said last year 65,000 high school students found their way to higher and semi higher educational institutes.
