2 soldiers killed, 10 injured as vehicle overturns in Herat

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Two security personnel were killed and 10 others injured when their pick-up vehicle overturned in Shindand district of neighboring Herat province on Monday, police in western Farah province said.

Farah police spokesman Maulvi Mohammad Naseem Badri told Pajhwok the accident took place in Shindand district shortly after 1pm. He said the security forces belonged to Farah province and they were travelling from Farah to Ghor province.

He said two security personnel were killed and 10 others were injured. He did not give further details.

However, a source in Shindand district told Pajhwok Afghan News on the condition of anonymity that security forces arrived at the scene and rushed the injured to the military hospital in Herat City.

The source said the injured personnel were in stable condition.
