No truth in changing universities’ names: MoHE

KABUL CITY (Pajhwok):  The Higher Education Ministry on Tuesday rejected social media reports as untrue that the names of public universities, particularly Kabul university, would be changed.

Hafez Ziaullah Hashemi, spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education, wrote on his twitter handle:” News about the change of names of the country’s universities have been published on fake accounts of some biased circles, which are completely inauthentic.”

Since yesterday, some reports attributed to acting Higher Education Minister Sheikh Neda Mohammad Nadim have been making rounds on social media, claiming the minister wants to change government universities’ names especially that of Kabul University to Kabul International Islamic University.

However, the Ministry of Higher Education spokesman sternly rejected the claim.

He in a video clip revealed that Minister Nadeem has no personal Facebook or twitter account.

Hashemi urged people not to believe in such baseless reports.
