150 foreign investors obtain licenses in15 months: MoCI

KABUL CITY (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) says 150 foreign investors were granted licenses over the past 15 months and some of them have actively started operation.

The Government Media Center on Sunday published a report quoting the Commerce Ministry as saying on its twitter handle that these investors were from different countries including the United States, China, UK, Canada, Poland, Holland, Pakistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and some Gulf countries.

Abdul Salam Akhundzada, a spokesman for the ministry, said some of these investors had practically begun their work.

Appreciating foreign investment in the country, the Commerce Ministry said Afghanistan needed such investments.

Earlier the acting government signed the Amu River basin crude oil extraction contract with a Chinese company based on which 3000 Afghan citizens would be provided with work opportunities by the time the extraction work starts.
