Postpone registering girls for entry test, private universities asked

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Higher Education has directed all private universities and higher educational institutes in the country to postpone registering girls for the coming solar year’s entrance exam until further notice.

The ministry in a letter to private universities and institutions of higher education said the registration of girls in the 1402 solar year’s entrance test had been postponed until further notice.

Ministry of Higher Education spokesman Hafiz Ziaullah Hashimi confirmed to Pajhwok the letter was valid.

The letter says female students are not allowed to be registered for university entrance test until further notice.

The Ministry of Higher Education in its letter asked private universities located in warm areas to conduct the entrance test from January 28 till February 10 and in cold areas from Feb 24 till March 9.

The ministry asked all educational institutions to receive their letter from the Department of Student Affairs five days before the entrance exam and send it to the National Examinations Authority in Kabul and the examination monitoring delegation to state universities in provinces.

Last month, the Ministry of Higher Education suspended girls’ higher education until second order.
