KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan consulate in Istanbul has officially been handed over to the representative of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, an official said on Tuesday.
Zakir Jalil, an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed to TOLOnews the consulate’s formal handover to the IEA representative.
Jalali added Gulmat Khan Zadran had been appointed as the new consul-general of Afghanistan in Istanbul.
According to MoFA, seven diplomats, including Charge d’Affaires Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, were dispatched to Tehran on Monday to avoid delays in the delivery of embassy services.
The ministry has already sent its representatives to diplomatic missions in Pakistan, Turkmenistan, China, Qatar, Turkey and Russia.
