KABUL (Pajhwok): Some analysts believed that the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’ (IEA) taking charge of diplomatic missions was a kind of informal recognition of the IEA government and asked other countries to adopt the policy or understanding and cooperation to end Afghanistan’s isolation.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) announced on Thursday that seven Afghan diplomats had been dispatched to Tehran to join the newly Chargé d’Affaires, Fazal Ahmad Haqani arranging affairs of the Afghani embassy.
According to the ministry, IEA had so far sent its representatives to the countries diplomatic mission Pakistan, Turkmenistan, China, Qatar, Turkey and Russia. The Afghan caretaker government appointed Sohail Shaheen as its representative in the United Nations but he is yet to be accepted by the organization.
Political Analyst Najibullah Jamay told Pajhwok Afghan News handing over diplomatic missions to IEA was a sort of official recognition and the current government might have reached a deal with some countries of the region in this regard.
He said: “Incumbent government should introduced changes ranging from its policy to its structure. We always stressed over national, none-violent and intra-Afghan resolution of dispute. In Tehran and any other place Afghan mission should be administered by authorities ruling in Kabul.”
He added that political anarchism and shaky regimes of the last half century in Afghanistan caused diplomatic missions to be ruled by specific and prejudice individuals who did not believed in the unity and ones of the people of Afghanistan.
He believed individuals who belonged to specific political parties should be removed and replaced by patriotic Afghans asking the incumbent government to provide all necessary rights to the people of Afghanistan and take steps towards the formation of constitution and paving ground for election.
Former Afghan Diplomat Aziz Maarej said countries that allowed IEA take charge of diplomatic mission have violated Vienna Convention of 1961.
He added this act could be translated as a kind of recognition informally.
Maarej said: “It is almost an achievement, in the current stage Afghanistan is coming out of isolation, Afghanistan establishes relations with the some nations and other countries would be also encouraged to follow footprints.”
Aatif Mashal, former Afghan ambassador in Pakistan, wrote on his twitter handle, regarding the world modifications, the region faced with serious challenges, but its only solution is regional understanding and cooperation.
“Facilitating active Afghanistan’s diplomatic mission in Tehran reflected upon Iran’s understanding of the on the ground condition and the move was admirable,” he added.
Mashal is hopeful that other countries also chose the manner of understanding and cooperation with Afghanistan.
It is pertinent to mention that one and half year after the IEA rule in Kabul, no country had officially recognized its government but UN and some other countries diplomatic missions were active in Kabul.
